StandardXAConnectionHandle - null pointer

Guys,

I hope you can help on this one.  Every now and again, several attempts to
get a statement to intereract with the database result in the following
stack trace.  After a short period of time the application continues to
run normally.  Does anyone have an idea of what has gone wrong?

java.sql.SQLException: StandardXAConnectionHandle:createStatement should
not be used outside an EJBServer: java.lang.NullPointerException
     at
org.enhydra.jdbc.standard.StandardXAConnectionHandle.createStatement(StandardXAConnectionHandle.java:474)
     at
org.enhydra.jdbc.standard.StandardXAConnectionHandle.createStatement(StandardXAConnectionHandle.java:425)
