[jonas-team] Re: Report on JOnAS axis2 module develop status

Some comments:
* resource injection: there's not only @EJB to be supported, but @Resource in general (ConnectionFactories for example) -> Currently, only the strict minimum (for the TCK) is implemented, some thinking needs to be done in this area * WSDL publication is not a very high priority item, AFAIK, we'vv implemented it only for TCK, so we can live without it the time being .. * I think the jaxws test suite is something with a high priority, so that we could check that basics (more or less) WS features are always OK.

Good job !

Hi,JOnAS:

After a stage of develop work in Axis2 module, I'd like to give a
description on the develop status of JOnAS Axis2 module.

1.The latest Axis2 version in JOnAS is 1.4.1(but because of the TCK
test, JOnAS has downgraded the JAXWS-API from 2.1 to 2.0, so I just
downgraded Axis2 from 1.4.1 to 1.3),the trunk version is Axis2 1.3 now.

2.We can use POJO webservice or EJB exposed as WS(because of a bug in
EasyBeans, we must make sure business logic methods are annotated with
@WebMethod)

        3.In deail, we now have:

                #1.Axis2 supplied JAX-WS 2.0 full support.
                #2.Supports POJO endpoints deployment.
#3.Full Handler support (@HandlerChain + chains declared in
deployment descriptors)
#4.Handlers are injected with WebServiceContext and EJB
resource if required
                #5.@PostConstruct & @PreDestroy are supported in Handlers.
#6.Service implementors are injected with WebServiceContext
if required
#7.Supports Webservices endpoints described only with annotations #8.Supports user-defined class as parameter of webservices.
#9.Endpoint Address is now displayed on the console

for next step, we may need to add these features to Axis2 module:

#1.Service implementors are injected with EJB resource if
required
                #2.Supports WSDL publication
                #3.Supports MTOM(Axis2 supported)
                #4.etc.

besides, we will create "jaxws" module in JONAS_Test, and add some
JAXWS test cases for JAXWS module.

Welcome your comments on the current develop status of JOnAS axis2
module.

Best Wishes!
