[exoplatform] Re: Re: About exo ecm v2.x ??

Will the portal 2.0 and ecm 2.0 be available standalone (without webos) ?
Or the portal 2.0 IS the webos ?
Or webOs deprecates portal-2.0 ?

I would like to continue to package my Statim b2b portlets with exoportal 2.0 + ecm 2.0 + spagobi.....
(I need to make a porting).

Can you make a little clarity about differences between portal 2.0 and webos ?

Also:
downloading ecm2 from
http://download.forge.objectweb.org/exoplatform/exo-ecm-2.0alpha4-tomcat.zip

and simply running it, it does'nt start.
It throws an exception and fail.
Is this file good for tests ?

Thank you.

Hi Luca

First, SpagoBi is already moved to the WebOS: http://blog.exoplatform.org/2008/01/14/spagobi-on-exo-webos/

Upgrade is not mandatory but really advised, eXo developer team on the new version is now more than 60 full time employed developers. Hence that new version will have a very long life, it is the achievement of all our years of work dedicated to build a powerful integrated platform.

For economical reasons and investment in that new - revolutionary - version we will not maintain the previous one, only people that purchased the subscription will get support from the eXo company mainly to migrate to the new one, we will not get new subscriptions on it Of course you can still ask question on the mailing list.

As for the source code, we will open a dedicated SVN (not OW2 as it is buggy right now) in read only for that old version if several people ask (which looks to be the case)

Thanks

Benjamin

Ach...
But for other projects built on exo v2x ? (such as SpagoBI, or our e-commerce "Statim", or other ecm-portals, such as "Regione Veneto") ?
We are all forced to migrate all to the new version .
And the new version 2.0 when will be dismissed again ?

I think you must supply support also for older version of your platform, otherwise your partners will rethink own choice.
At least the availability of the sources (also if no more developed).

What is your opinion ?
What other developer think about that ?

Yes the project is dead

In fact it is replaced by eXo ECM 2.0 part of the WebOS that will be launch very very  soon

The previous code commits were terminated more than one year ago
