[exoplatform] install error: any exoplatform diagnostic script?

Is there an exoplatform diagnostic script which checks the configuration
or interprets server output?

After following the Quickstart instructions, http://localhost:8080/portal/
redirected to http://localhost:8080/portal/public/site/ and emitted an
HTTP 500 error.  Apparently Tomcat did get started, as
http://localhost:8080/ produces the default Tomcat page.
