I'm running the latest release (exo-enterprise-webos-r21645-tomcat) on a
Pentium 4 at 3GHz with 1g of RAM and it seems that every actions (from changing
the current portal to add a portlet in a container) takes a lot of times (from

Can be a problem of persistence and if yes how can I fix the problem?

It's a very complex question to be simple answered there,
but you may increase the JVM heap memory limit up to -Xmx512m for example (if no, try a bit more).
