Hi ,
Do you mean when the contructor , new UIOrganizationPortlet(..), is called ??? the UIComponent objects is instantiated by a reflection framework, the root object is configured in the portlet.xml file , the framework will check all the dependecies children , they are declared in the constructor, instantiate them and then create the UIComponent object. This process is run recursively.

public UIOrganizationPortlet(UIGroupNode uiGroupNode, UIMembershipNode uiMembershipNode) throws Exception { setId("organization-portlet"); ...
In this example where in eXo the params UIGroupNode uiGroupNode, UIMembershipNode uiMembershipNode are passed to the portlet (xml file? java hook?).
Thank you for your help flo.
