Roman,

I don't quite see how this is a feature :-). At any rate, I think the code
base should throw an easy-to-read exception. In 1.1.3, it throws a
NullPointerException with no description. If this hasn't been fixed in the
current SVN tree, I can add it as a feature request in JIRA.
