eXo 1.0.1: trigger DisplayStaticContent by 3PD portlet?

Hi everyone,

I have written a very simple portlet for eXo 1.0.1 which has 3 pages.  
(page1, page2, page3)

I have placed it on the desktop of a user and placed the  
DisplayStaticContent portlet, that comes with eXo, underneath it.

These 2 portlets are the only ones on the desktop at the moment.

Furthermore, I have created 3 explanatory content items  
(explanation_page1, explanation_page2, explanation_page3) for  
DisplayStaticContent.

Now I would like to know how to synchronize the two portlets:
If the user chooses "page1" in my portlet, I want DisplayStaticContent  
to show "explanation_page2". If the user chooses "page2", I want  
DisplayStaticContent to show "explanation_page2" and so forth.

How do I do that?
