The ECM distribution includes the JCR and Portal one.
So you just have to download the ecm package and starts it as usual to get the whole stuff running.

Wish I could be of more help. Seems we both need a better tutorial to get everything working together.
Also, when I run the portal, and try to login with the admin account,
it doesn't appear to let me in and gives this exception:

SEVERE: Unexpected error
java.lang.SecurityException: Unable to locate a login configuration
Have you changed the database and portal configuration from the default hsql? The portal config is located in /tomcat/conf/catalina/localhost
specifically the portal.xml file?

I've downloaded the RCs from ObjectWeb. I see each (of the Tomcat
releases) includes it's own Tomcat server running on port 8080. How do
I then use all three together?

articles in hopes of finding the information, but it's not there. I
don't see any links to instructions on how to install, run and use EXO.
