Hi Legolas,
I'm afraid I cannot answer all of your questions, but at least here is my
contribution...
0- Yes, eXo Platform is in active development. Version 2.0, including among
others enhanced ECM features, will be released soon. You can access and
compile the very last sources from the Subversion repository.
1- eXo provides an IDE plugin in Eclipse. It enables to create, deploy,
debug Portlets.
3- eXo is relying on Hibernate for persistence, so if Derby is supported by
Hibernate, it *should* only be a matter of configuration.
4- Some metrics were made by the US Army and they said that eXo was
sustaining 500 connections per second on a quad CPU Pentium 4 server. This
may provide a clue for your requirements.
5- eXo is JSR 168 compliant, so every Portlet applying this standard is
deployable in eXo.
Hope this helps,
-Brice Revenant.

hi
Thank you for reading my post , i have some question which i hope some one
from the commnity answer .
I should develop a banner management System , Now
my questions are
0-Is it under development ? it looks like it is month that there is no new
version ,
is there any plan for next version ?
1-how Exo portal can ease my developing job ?
I use RWD as my IDE and i want its Struts designer features it means that :
2-can use an IDE like RWD whichcan develop jsp pages in visual mode for
developing additional module for Exo portal?
I use DAO Pattern (generated by some JDBC DAO generator)for data access ,
does Exo Portal restrict me in using persistance mechanism?
3-I want to use an embede database like derby , also i will use some JMS
implementation. is there any problem with them ?
4-how does a portal affect Hit / second ? my systesm should handle +50 hit
/ second so , i should trade off between performance and ease of use.
5-where i can find more portlet which are deployable into Exo Portal (I
want Struts based stuff)
any help is welcome
I hope you - the community- let ask more general question before i go to
real job.
