It occurs when the portletcontainer receives no content from the portlet.
The number is the portlet instance id.

My portlet, however, doesn't appear to be logging any exceptions. Any insight about what these numbers indicate? Also, is the behavior in these situations configurable? I would prefer to display something else in a production environment.
