For the first issue (freeze), it never happened to me, except with the 
new version I'm currently preparing... Since the GUI freezes, it means 
that the thread that manages the GUI events is blocked somewhere. I have 
to check synchronized blocks and wait() calls in the GUI code. However, 
it would be of great support for my bug tracking if you could give 
details about when the freeze occur. You could open a bug in the 
bug-tracking system available at

For the second issue, a NullPointerException is raised by HttpClient 
code, so you'd better check there (are you correctly using this library, 
could there be a concurrency issue, is there a bug in this library - try 
to update it from Apache project site)
