Re: [clif] feedback for clif

Hi,

A new GUI and tools for result analysis (including report generation) are parts of future plans (hopefully by the end of this year, and possibly some simple tools in a closer future). I'm currently performing a second step in cleaning/refactoring the architecture of CLIF. This is a necessary preliminary step before developping a new GUI, integrating a new, flexible probe infrastructure, saving and batch-playing test plans, etc.
CLIF is still a bit too young, sorry for that... However, you may give us ideas about which parameters and what kind of report you are interested in; please use the feature request tool http://forge.objectweb.org/tracker/?atid=350057&group_id=57&func=browse

As far as the classpath issue is concerned, your description is a little bit too fuzzy for me. Could you please give me the following details:
- what is the current directory when you type "ant server" or "ant console" commands (it should be either the root directory of CLIF's binary distribution, or the output/dist directory if you compile CLIF from a CVS checkout)
- show me your modified build.xml file
- what is your OS (so that I can check with the same OS)

Best regards,
-- Bruno.

Hi,

Here are a few remarks I've noticed about Clif :

ergonomy issues :

-When specifying stuff for server deployment (scenario class, scenario parameters), the entries are validated once you've clicked somewhere outside the field. It would be great if these parameters were validated immediately when typing. That would prevent from having scenario init errors because of some missing parameters.

-It would be really nice to have a tool which could redisplay the graphs after a bench, using the generated logs,
or even better : a report generator.

classpath issues :

-It seems that something doesn't work properly in my case : I have to specify the full names of the jar files into
the classpathes of the build.xml file before loading server & console. If not, I get some ClassNotFound exceptions.
But if I do that, everything works properly.
